(Baonghean.vn) -The Thong Thu Border Guard Post, located in Que Phong district, is tasked with protecting 29.5 km of border with 9 border markers. Over the years, the officers and soldiers of the post have closely coordinated with the forces of neighboring Laos, along with the local Party committee, government, and people of the district, to effectively carry out the task of organizing patrols and controls to protect the border and border markers.
Specifically in 2013 and the first few months of 2014, the border guard station organized 15 patrols/207 border patrol missions, including 4 bilateral patrols with the Lao forces involving 40 officers and soldiers.
Along with patrolling and controlling the border to ensure its security, the Thong Thu Border Guard Post actively advises and coordinates with local Party committees, authorities, and commune police forces in developing plans to protect the area's safety. The Post always works closely with mass organizations and ethnic communities to carry out border security work and social activities with high results. In parallel with these tasks, the Thong Thu Border Guard Post also collaborates in building model sustainable economic development projects, contributing positively to poverty reduction in the border areas of Que Phong district.
