Traveling 130 nautical miles to rescue 17 sailors in distress at sea
(Baonghean.vn) - After more than a day and night of overcoming strong winds and waves, Nghe An Border Guard successfully rescued 17 fishermen and their fishing boats in distress at sea and brought them safely to the mainland.

Previously, at 11:30 a.m. on September 13, the Nghe An Border Guard Command received information that fishing boat NA 97175TS had a broken gearbox, about 71 nautical miles east of Mui Ron (Ky Anh, Ha Tinh).
The owner of the vehicle is Mr. Tran Dinh Chat (45 years old, from Minh Thanh hamlet, Quynh Long commune, Quynh Luu district), there are 17 crew members on board who need urgent rescue.
Upon receiving the news, the Nghe An Border Guard Command mobilized ship CN09 (BP06-19-01) and 15 officers from the Nghe An Border Guard Squadron 2 to carry out the rescue mission.

After more than 10 hours of overcoming strong winds and waves, the rescue team reached the ship in distress. Here, officers and soldiers provided first aid to the injured victims while fixing the ship’s problems, and provided food and provisions to the crew to fight hunger, then towed the ship to shore.
By 11:00 p.m. on September 14, 2018, Nghe An Border Guard force had brought the crew and the fishing boat in distress to Cua Hoi port - Nghe An safely.
