Crossing the railway tracks without looking, a four-seater car was hit by a freight train and thrown 20 meters away.

(Baonghean.vn) - The accident occurred at approximately 6 PM on September 13th on the North-South railway line at Km310+650 in Nghi Lien commune (Vinh City), between a freight train and a four-seater car.

According to several witnesses, at that time, a Kia Morning four-seater car was driving from Nghi Lien commune onto National Highway 1A. Just then, a freight train traveling from Vinh to Hanoi sped towards it and crashed into the car.

The powerful collision sent the four-seater car flying off the railway tracks. The driver of the car (whose identity is unknown) fortunately escaped unharmed and was rescued by local residents.

At the scene, the heavily damaged four-seater car was located about 20 meters from the initial accident site. The freight train sustained minor damage to its locomotive. Part of the railway hazard warning sign system was knocked down.

The accident occurred at a level crossing where local residents meet the railway line. While it was equipped with warning signs and traffic lights, it lacked barriers.

The initial cause has been identified as the driver of the four-seater vehicle crossing the railway tracks without proper observation.
