When you go to the Forestry Products Processing Block in Quang Phong Ward, Thai Hoa Town, and ask about the family of Mr. Le Hong Son, almost everyone knows him, because he is a role model for overcoming difficulties to raise and educate his children, and his family's efforts have been rewarded in part as his children are all well-behaved and excel in their studies.

(Baonghean)When you go to the Forestry Products Processing Block in Quang Phong Ward, Thai Hoa Town, and ask about the family of Mr. Le Hong Son, almost everyone knows him, because he is a role model for overcoming difficulties to raise and educate his children, and his family's efforts have been rewarded in part as his children are all well-behaved and excel in their studies.

We arrived at their house just as the father and son were packing their belongings to go to Hanoi to rent a room for the son, Le Hoang Hiep, before he started university.

Coming from a family already struggling financially, Mr. Son suffered from chronic asthma requiring frequent medication, causing significant financial difficulties. After trying various jobs, they settled on carpentry. Mr. and Mrs. Son worked tirelessly to cover Mr. Son's medical expenses and provide for their two children's education. Out of love and respect for their parents, the two sisters were determined to excel in their studies, and their achievements are the greatest gift in return for the love and support of their family and loved ones.

Mr. Son and his son, Le Hoang Hiep, review their academic achievements.

Looking at the thick stack of certificates and awards for academic excellence belonging to the two sisters, anyone would admire their self-study spirit and the efforts of their family. The older sister, Le Thi Khanh Hoa, is currently an outstanding third-year student at the Banking Academy. With impressive academic achievements, she has received commendations from the Director of the Banking Academy over the years and a full scholarship from the Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam. What's remarkable is that, in addition to being a top student, she also tutors, provides private lessons, and works as a foreign language interpreter to help cover part of her tuition fees.

Meanwhile, his younger brother, Le Hoang Hiep, also quickly demonstrated his abilities, being an all-around excellent student for 12 consecutive years. He won third prize in the provincial-level online math competition for 9th graders, second prize in the provincial-level chemistry competition for 12th graders, and second prize in 10th grade and first prize in 11th grade in the national math competition organized by the Mathematics and Youth Magazine, Ministry of Education and Training.

The 2013 university and college entrance exam was also an opportunity for Le Hoang Hiep to prove himself, and he succeeded by achieving high scores in two prestigious schools: Hanoi Medical University with a score of 28.0 (Mathematics 9.5; Chemistry 9.25; Biology 9.25) and Hanoi University of Pharmacy with a score of 26.5 (Mathematics 8.5; Physics 8.5; Chemistry 9.5).

When asked about his study methods and dreams, Hiep shared, "I don't focus too much on extra classes; I mainly concentrate on mastering the basic knowledge taught in class. Then, I buy additional advanced books to find ways to solve different types of exercises and exam questions, from easy to difficult. When I enter university, I am determined to study hard to become a resident doctor right at the university to help my mother ease her burden."

We believe that the determination of their family and their own efforts will be the foundation that helps the two sisters, Hoa and Hiep, to mature quickly.
