Despite the scorching weather, workers at the construction site of the 500kV line 3 section through Nghe An still strained to carry out their tasks.
Clip: Quang An - Thu HuyenThe 500kV line 3 project from Quang Trach (Quang Binh) to Pho Noi (Hung Yen) has a total length of about 519 km, passing through 9 provinces: Quang Binh, Ha Tinh, Nghe An, Thanh Hoa, Ninh Binh, Nam Dinh, Thai Binh, Hai Duong, Hung Yen. The 500kV line 3 project through Nghe An province has a total length of 99.99 km with 202 column foundation locations and 88 anchorages. This is a key, urgent project, playing a particularly important role in national energy security. Photo: Quang An Anchorage 337-338 in Nam Thai commune, Nam Dan, is the first anchorage on the 500kV line 3 through Nghe An province. The construction of this anchorage is very complicated because the wire must be pulled over the 220kV line, the 110kV line and National Highway 15A. The construction units must set up 22m high scaffolding and coordinate with related units to cut off the power from 3am to 4pm every day for construction. Photo: Thu HuyenAt many locations where power lines cross residential roads or rivers, construction units have proactively coordinated with local authorities to direct traffic, set up scaffolding, rent barges, and ensure the progress of cable pulling and the safety of other vehicles. Photo: Thu HuyenWorkers swing on steel frames, concentrating on finishing the columns and hanging porcelain to pull the wires. This is a job that requires meticulousness and high technique. Photo: Quang AnOn this route, there are many tall poles built on steep mountainous terrain, with uneven pole bases, causing great difficulties for units leveling and constructing the foundation structure. Photo: Thu HuyenBecause the construction is on the mountain, pulling the rope requires the support of a pulley system, which is firmly connected. Photo: Quang AnPower line construction work often requires working at high altitudes, perched precariously among the pine forests of Nghe An. Photo: Quang AnWorkers hang from towering pillars to assemble electric poles. The higher they go, the stronger the wind gets, so workers must wear safety ropes to work. Photo: Quang AnPulling long electric wires requires the combined strength of many workers. Photo: Thu HuyenWorking on steep and complex mountain terrain, many stages must be done manually, requiring a lot of strength, but above all, the working spirit of "overcoming the sun and rain", "only working, not retreating" for the sake of the national electricity. Photo: Thu HuyenCurrently, the project is implementing pole erection and rope pulling, which requires frequent work at height in extremely hot weather conditions. Mr. Tran Phuc Cuong, a construction worker at the 337-338 section of Nam Thai Commune, Nam Dan District, said: The team of workers on duty here come from many provinces and cities across the country. Many people are experiencing the heat and Lao wind in Nghe An for the first time, which is really harsh. The brothers have to drink water continuously while working to survive. Photo: Quang AnIt is impossible to describe all the hardships and difficulties in constructing the national key project, but they still strive and are determined to bring the project to the finish line on schedule. Mr. Le Van Tam - Deputy Director of Power Construction Company 2, said: We are working together day and night, determined to complete the project on schedule. With a workforce of more than 300 workers and a synchronous construction machinery system, we do not need support forces, but also support some other units. From June 16, construction began on the first section of the cable, at the intersection of 337 - 338 in Nam Dan district with a length of 392m. Photo: Thu Huyen
According to the Department of Industry and Trade, up to now, projects in Nghe An have completed casting foundations at 202/202 locations; completed erection of 76 pole locations, are constructing 70 pole locations, and have completed casting foundations at 56 locations, but have not yet moved to erecting poles. From June 16, the first section of the cable pulling process, at intersections 337 - 338 in Nam Dan district, will begin. Other sections have not yet been cabled and will be planned to be pulled in turn in the coming time, determined to complete this key energy project before June 30, according to the direction of the Prime Minister.
