In the first round, U9 Song Lam Nghe An was held to a 2-2 draw by U9 HYS Hanoi. In the second round, coach Le Ky Dai's team won a big victory against U9 PFSC Gia Lai with a score of 12-0.

And in the final round of Group G, U9 Song Lam Nghe An will have a decisive match against Thuan An Binh Duong. U9 Song Lam Nghe An only needs a draw to be able to enter the round of 16.

With the performance in the past 2 matches in the group stage, U9 Song Lam Nghe An was rated higher than the opponent. However, the surprise happened when U9 Song Lam Nghe An was scored by U9 Thuan An Binh Duong to take the lead.
