Wenger: 'If I leave, Arsenal won't win everything'
Manager Arsene Wenger has warned against criticism after his side's 5-1 defeat to Bayern Munich in the Champions League.
Arsenal are facing an early exit from the Champions League. If they fail to come back from behind in the second leg against Bayern at the Emirates, the Gunners will be eliminated in the round of 16 for the seventh consecutive season.
In addition to the humiliation in the Champions League, public opinion is also disappointed with Wenger because of his poor performance in the Premier League - where his team is currently in third place, 10 points behind the leader Chelsea. The last time Arsenal won the championshipthis arenawas the 2003-2004 season. Many fans called for the club to sack Wenger - who had been with the club for 21 years and brought home three Premier League titles and a host of other domestic trophies.

"If I leave, Arsenal will not necessarily win everything," the French strategist said. "Look at history, when I first arrived, Arsenal had very few opportunities to play in the Champions League. For more than 20 years, we have been one of three teams that have continuously played in this arena, along with Real Madrid and Bayern Munich. Things are not perfect, but they are not too bad either."
Wenger's contract with Arsenal will expire this summer. If the board does not want to extend, the "Professor" is willing to accept but will not retire.
"I will continue to work next season, whether here or elsewhere. That is for sure. The important thing is not my future, but the future of Arsenal. The board needs to make the right decision for the future. I have always been concerned about this for the past two decades. I have had many attractive offers during this time but always thought about the club. Whether it is me or another manager, Arsenal needs to be in safe hands," Wenger said.
