(Baonghean.vn)- On October 13, the WikiLeaks information site continued to reveal nearly 2,000 more internal emails belonging to the campaign of Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, bringing the total number of leaked emails published last week to 9,000.

Newly released emails show that Clinton's campaign sought to move the Illinois primary to another date, arguing that holding the vote after Super Tuesday on March 15 would help block the advance of a moderate Republican candidate.

Specifically, in November 2014, in an email exchange between campaign chairman John Podesta and Mr. Robby Mook - currently Mrs. Clinton's campaign manager, Mr. Mook emphasized that officials of the administration of US President Barack Obama should take advantage of their relationship in the president's home state to postpone the primary election in Illinois from March 15 to at least one month later.

"The primary goal is to push back the Illinois primary until sometime outside mid-March... Clinton and her husband, former President Bill Clinton, will not forget the friends who did this for them," Mook wrote.

However, Illinois still held its primary election on March 15 as planned. At that time, Mrs. Clinton won the Democratic primary in this state, while the Republican victory belonged to billionaire Donald Trump.

This is the sixth time WikiLeaks has published emails revealing the "dark corners" behind the election campaign of the former US Secretary of State.

A day earlier, WikiLeaks also released additional emails related to the Democratic candidate's campaign, in which her advisers discussed how best to publicize their opposition to the controversial Keystone XL project proposed by TransCanada Corp (Canada) and ConocoPhilips (US) in 2008.

According to WikiLeaks, the revealed emails are among 50,000 leaked emails of campaign chairman Podesta that could be detrimental to Mrs. Clinton./.
