Dong Hieu Commune (Thai Hoa Town) receives the certificate recognizing it as a New Rural Area.
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of December 6th, the Party Committee, government, and people of Dong Hieu commune(Thai Hoa town)The commune solemnly organized a ceremony to celebrate the 20th anniversary of its establishment and to receive the Certificate of Recognition for achieving New Rural Area (NRA) standards in 2015, awarded by the Provincial People's Committee.
Attending the ceremony were the Vice Chairmen of the Provincial People's Committee: Dinh Viet Hong and Hoang Viet Duong – Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the New Rural Development Steering Committee of Nghe An province. Also present were representatives from the Provincial New Rural Development Coordination Office, leaders of Thai Hoa town, and people from all walks of life in Dong Hieu commune.

Officially embarking on the New Rural Development program in 2011, starting with only 6 criteria, after more than 4 years of implementation, Dong Hieu commune mobilized all sectors of the population and effectively integrated investment resources to complete all 19 criteria.
The total investment cost for building new rural areas is over 243.55 billion VND, of which the budgets of all levels and other resources account for over 80 billion VND, or 32.4%; people's contributions and investments amount to 164.6 billion VND, or 67.6% (including the donation of 2,135 m² of land).2land and contributed 15,125 man-days of labor.
At the ceremony, the People's Committee of Dong Hieu commune assessed the results of four years of building new rural areas, the reasons for success, and lessons learned. Besides fulfilling the general criteria as prescribed, one of Dong Hieu's strengths is its ability to mobilize the people's strength to develop the economy, improve living standards, and excellently complete the criteria for building transportation infrastructure and cultural institutions…
Celebrating the 20th anniversary of the commune's establishment and receiving the title of New Rural Area standard on the occasion of the 54th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's visit to Dong Hieu (December 10, 1961 - December 10, 2015) is an important event for the Party Committee and people of the commune to continue to build upon achievements, strive to implement President Ho Chi Minh's teachings, and build an increasingly prosperous and beautiful homeland.

Speaking at the ceremony, Comrade Dinh Viet Hong – Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee – congratulated and highly appreciated the efforts of the Party Committee, government, and people of Dong Hieu commune in the past four years of building new rural areas. The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee expressed his hope that in the coming time, the commune will continue to thoroughly understand and internalize the Party's guiding ideology on rural industrialization and modernization; strengthen the linkage between the four stakeholders (farmers, businesses, scientists, and the government); and develop the agricultural and rural economy to maintain and promote the criteria of new rural areas.
