According to KaosoEnglish, the broadcast of Makharin Phumsaart, nicknamed Nae Wat Dao, attracted more than one million viewers on the morning of April 16.

Nae Wat Dao, 25, became famous after a video of him fighting with a rival gang was posted online in 2012. After this event, Nae announced his retirement, became an Internet celebrity, and made money from selling skin cream and his "gangster" reputation.

After the online broadcast, many Thai people admired this gangster even more, but many also expressed doubts.

Siriraj Hospital in Bangkok, where Nae was rushed to the emergency room after “shooting himself in the right forehead,” confirmed to police that Nae’s wound was not caused by a gunshot. Nae staged the incident, aiming to gain more followers on Facebook.

Nae has been transferred to a psychiatric hospital, charged with illegal possession of a firearm, and is under investigation by the Cyber ​​Crime Bureau, police said.
