Lang Thanh commune (Yen Thanh district) receives certificate recognizing it as a new-style rural commune.

After 7 years of implementing the National Target Program for building new rural areas, with the proactive leadership and guidance of the Party Committee and government, the effective coordination of the Fatherland Front and other organizations, the consensus of the people, and the assistance of higher levels, Lang Thanh commune has achieved commendable results and has been recognized by the Provincial People's Committee as a commune meeting the standards of a new rural area.

The rural landscape has seen significant improvements, with investment in socio-economic infrastructure, a gradually improving transportation system, and a well-developed irrigation system that meets production needs. Education has also seen many positive changes, with schools achieving national standards; cultural facilities from the commune to the village level have been upgraded and newly constructed. Healthcare facilities have been well-invested in, providing good primary care and treatment for the people; and environmental sanitation has been effectively managed.

Political stability is ensured, the people have confidence in the Party's leadership and the government's administration; mass organizations, economic units, and villages operate effectively; national defense and security are guaranteed; and the material and spiritual lives of the people are gradually improving.

During the 8 years of building new rural areas, Lang Thanh commune mobilized resources totaling over 308 billion VND. This included: 2.62 billion VND from the central government budget (0.85%); 51.02 billion VND from the provincial budget (16.54%); 7.747 billion VND from the district budget (2.51%); 16.3676 billion VND from the commune budget (5.3%); 24.265 billion VND from integrated funding (7.86%); and 206.33 billion VND from people's contributions (66.91%).

In 2018, the average per capita income reached 30,174 million VND/year; the poverty rate was 4.28%. Over 70% of the commune's hamlets, villages, and residential clusters met the standards of a cultural village as stipulated by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Speaking at the ceremony, Comrade Dinh Viet Hong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - acknowledged and praised the achievements that Lang Thanh commune has made in the New Rural Development movement.

At the same time, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized: Building new rural areas has only a starting point but no end point; therefore, in the coming years, the locality will continue to improve the criteria, especially focusing on improving the spiritual and material lives of the people.

On this occasion, the Provincial People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 4 collectives and 4 individuals; the Yen Thanh District People's Committee awarded Certificates of Commendation to 4 collectives and 4 individuals for their outstanding achievements in the New Rural Development movement in the locality.
