Nghi An Commune (Vinh City) receives Certificate of recognition for meeting new rural standards

| On the morning of May 16, 2017, Nghi An Commune People's Committee held a ceremony to receive the Certificate of recognition for the commune meeting new rural standards in 2016. Attending were comrade Vo Viet Thanh - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of Vinh City Party Committee; comrade Hoang Nghia Hieu - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of Nghe An Department of Agriculture and Rural Development; comrade Nguyen Hoai An - Chairman of Vinh City People's Committee. |
With the motto of the state and people working together, the commune has mobilized people to donate nearly 5,500m2 of land, worth over 10 billion VND, to open rural roads, build new nearly 19,000m of concrete alleys; asphalt and concrete 32.47km of commune and inter-commune roads; 3.92km of village roads; harden 2.5km of intra-field roads; solidify 85% of the canal system managed by the commune.
Currently, in the commune, there are 3 flower and ornamental plant craft villages recognized by the Provincial People's Committee in Kim My, Kim Chi, Kim Phuc hamlets and 5 cooperative groups operating effectively, bringing high income to the people. 90% of working-age people have regular jobs, the average income per capita in 2016 reached 22 million VND/person/year. The poverty rate has decreased to 1.85%. The commune has achieved universal lower secondary education; 12/14 hamlets have met the standards of cultural hamlets; social security and order are maintained and stable.
In addition to traditional local occupations, local people also diversify their occupations. Thanks to the dynamic economic development, the lives of local people are increasingly improved, the average income per capita reaches over 33 million VND/person/year; the poverty rate has decreased to 1.9%.

During the 6 years of implementing the national program of new rural construction, Nghi An has mobilized a total of over 86 billion VND, of which the people contributed over 29 billion VND. The commune has completed 19/19 criteria; in 2016, the provincial People's Committee recognized the commune as meeting new rural standards.
On this occasion, the Provincial People's Committee presented Nghi An commune with a welfare project worth 500 million VND and awarded Certificates of Merit to 4 collectives and 4 individuals with achievements in the new rural construction movement.
