Implementing the national target program for building new rural areas, Nghia Khanh commune, despite facing many difficulties due to low starting points and low people's income, has mobilized a total of 438.5 billion VND to implement the criteria thanks to solutions that mobilize people's resources and take advantage of support from higher levels. The commune has integrated 111.3 billion VND from various programs and mobilized 287.3 billion VND from people's resources to renovate houses and contribute to building roads, cultural centers, and sports fields. All three schools in the commune have achieved national standards. Currently, in addition to all 17 hamlets having cultural centers, 14 hamlets have been recognized as Cultural Villages. The number of poor households has decreased to 4.91%, the number of well-off households has increased, and in 2015, the average per capita income reached 21 million VND; the cultural and spiritual life of the people has been increasingly improved.

Speaking at the ceremony recognizing Nghia Khanh commune as a New Rural Area, on behalf of the Provincial Steering Committee for New Rural Area Construction, Mr. Nguyen Si Hung, Deputy Director of the Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, highly appreciated the achievements of the Party Committee, government, and people of Nghia Khanh commune, especially the collective efforts of the people and the effective integration of state resources into the implementation of New Rural Area criteria. He also requested that the commune and district organize the transfer and application of technology and scientific techniques to improve crop productivity, pay attention to organizing more production models to effectively exploit the local land potential, increase income, and create jobs for the people; and continue to launch emulation movements to build New Rural Areas to improve the quality of criteria, contributing to the completion of the national goal of New Rural Area construction as planned.
