Liberal MPs, Australia's largest political party, have voted to pass a non-binding resolution calling on the government to move its embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem and suspend aid to Palestine until the Palestinian Authority ends monthly payments to families of relatives killed, injured or imprisoned for involvement in attacks on Israel.

However, Foreign Minister Julie Bishop rejected this proposal. "The Australian Government will not move the embassy to Jerusalem,"GuardianJune 16 quoted Ms. Bishop. "We must maintain our position over the past decades on the issue of Jerusalem."

Regarding aid to the Palestinians, Ms. Bishop recently wrote to the Palestinian Authority to ensure that $43 million will be disbursed next fiscal year, for the health, education and public administration sectors.

The New Straits Times reported on June 17 that investigators from the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) have recommended charging former Prime Minister Najib Razak because “there is sufficient evidence.”

The recommendation was made in the MACC’s investigation report to the Attorney-General’s Chambers a few days ago, a source close to the investigation said, adding that the recommendation did not include the name of Mr. Najib’s wife, Rosmah Mansor.

It is now up to Attorney General Tommy Thomas to decide whether to accept the recommendation or return the document to MACC for further investigation.

Additionally, to prevent vehicle attacks on the tower, 420 concrete blocks will be placed in front of the glass wall as a backup layer of protection.
