Thanh Linh Commune (Thanh Chuong) celebrates its 70th anniversary and receives the Certificate of achievement of model new rural standards

On the side of Thanh Chuong district, there were comrades: Nguyen Hai Duong - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the District People's Council; Nguyen Van Que - Permanent Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, Trinh Van Nha - Chairman of the District People's Committee.

Thanh Linh is a locality with a long tradition of history, culture and revolution. Thanh Linh people are industrious and creative in production; brave and resilient in combat, with many achievements and contributions to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland. During the war against the US to save the country, this place was the leading flag of the movement "not a pound of rice was missing, not a soldier was missing".

Assessing and recognizing the contributions of the Party and people through the resistance wars and the success in the renovation process, on January 29, 1996, the President signed Decision No. 791KT/CTN to award the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces to Thanh Linh commune. Along with that, the commune was awarded many Orders, Medals of Military Exploit, and Medals of Resistance by the Party and State.

During the 70 years of construction and development, the cadres and people of Thanh Linh commune have always been united, knowing how to take advantage of potentials and advantages, overcoming difficulties and challenges to innovate and rise up, marking a clear transformation and achieving many important and outstanding achievements in all fields. The economic growth rate has been high; many new economic models have been effective, contributing to improving people's lives. Infrastructure has been invested in and built spaciously, the appearance of the countryside has been renewed.

In 2014, Thanh Linh was recognized by the People's Committee of Nghe An province as meeting the standards of a new-style rural commune with 19/19 criteria meeting the standards according to regulations, finishing 1 year ahead of the Congress Resolution, being the first commune in Thanh Chuong district to meet the national criteria for new-style rural areas. In 2021, the locality continued to make efforts to complete the advanced new-style rural area. Determining that building a new-style rural area is a long-term, regular and continuous process, in parallel with the advanced new-style rural area criteria, Thanh Linh also simultaneously built a model new-style rural area in education and basically completed the criteria according to regulations in 2023. The total mobilized resources for building a model new-style rural area is over 55 billion VND.

Speaking at the ceremony, comrade Trinh Van Nha - Chairman of Thanh Chuong District People's Committee requested the Party Committee and people of Thanh Linh to continue promoting democracy, openness, transparency, continue to mobilize internal resources, "use people's strength to build for the people"; thoroughly grasp the viewpoint "economic development is the central task".

In particular, it is necessary to strongly shift clean agricultural production towards concentration and commodity; closely link production with processing and consumption of products, expand the market for OCOP products, along with developing weaving villages in a specialized and fine art direction; pay attention to improving the quality of education; carry out population work well; solve employment associated with sustainable poverty reduction, ensuring social security.

On this occasion, the Party Committee and people of Thanh Linh commune received the Emulation Flag of the Provincial People's Committee for outstanding achievements in leading the patriotic emulation movement in 2023; the Provincial People's Committee awarded a Certificate of recognition for the commune meeting the model new rural standards and presented a welfare project worth 700 million VND to the Party Committee, government and people of Thanh Linh commune./.
