Thanh Tung Commune celebrates 70th anniversary of establishment and receives Certificate of recognition for meeting new rural standards

Thanh Tung commune has a natural area of ​​2,051.98 hectares divided into 11 hamlets. By 2018, implementing the policy of merging administrative units of the Party and the State, the commune merged into 5 hamlets.

From the names of the villages Yen Thanh, My Son, Yen Khanh, Tho Hao (Bich Trieu, Bich Hao communes) to Tan Dan and Thanh Tung today, although going through many names, this land still shares the same good traditions: Rich in patriotism, bravely fighting against foreign invaders and oppressive powers; having the spirit of loving and studying well, many people passed the imperial examinations, successful in many fields of the country; the people are united, hardworking, thrifty, building the homeland and the country.

Rising up in countless difficulties, with a low starting point, in recent years, especially from the beginning of 2020 until now, the Party Committee and people of Thanh Tung commune have united, unanimously, devoted themselves, innovated, and created breakthroughs in many aspects such as economy - society, national defense - security.

The period 2000 - 2020 is the period of acceleration of the commune's socio-economic development. Thanks to the development of a multi-sector economy, the application of science and technology, and the investment of the district and superiors, the commune's production has flourished and made a leap forward. From a purely agricultural countryside, the proportion of industry, handicrafts and basic construction has accounted for nearly 20% of the economic structure; commercial services accounted for 17%; total budget revenue reached nearly 2 billion VND. Average income per capita reached over 19 million VND/person/year.

Determining the work of building new rural areas with the motto of having a starting point but no ending point, right from the beginning of the term, the People's Committee of the commune promptly advised on the development of plans and roadmaps to implement the goals of building new rural areas and advanced new rural areas in the period of 2021-2025. In the period of 2021 - 2023, the commune mobilized more than 81 billion VND, of which people contributed more than 13,934 billion VND. In addition, people donated more than 6,818 m² of land, contributed more than 9,800 working days and hired excavators to build 63,000 m³ of earth and rock to upgrade the traffic system; cleared 10,000 valuable trees and built 550m of fences. From 2021 to now, the commune has built more than 7.2 km of communal roads, 37.46 km of village roads, 37.7 km of intra-field roads; Upgrade, construct and beautify the martyrs' cemetery to be spacious, clean and beautiful; build a number of bridges, culverts for the people, flagpole clusters as well as irrigation canal systems and many economic models of commodity nature, model gardens of new rural areas at the commune level...

With a total investment capital of over 49 billion VND to date, by December 2023, the commune has achieved 19/19 NTM criteria. Since then, the annual growth rate has been quite good, the economic structure has shifted in the right direction, the proportion of agriculture has decreased, industry, construction, and services have increased. In 2023, the total income of the whole commune reached 250,546 million VND, the average income was over 48 million VND/person/year. The rate of inter-village roads and alleys in the commune that are asphalted and concreted reached over 80%. The trade and service sectors have developed strongly, the whole commune has nearly 172 production and business households, 2 operating companies and enterprises; 5 freight and passenger transport businesses; thereby, creating stable jobs for more than 100 local workers.

There have been many advances in culture and society, the movement of the entire people uniting to build a cultural life in residential areas, building cultural families and cultural villages has been increasingly promoted. The work of ensuring social security, creating jobs and reducing poverty has received special attention, regularly visiting and caring for policy families, people with meritorious services and social protection beneficiaries. The quality of education at all levels has always maintained the top position in the district. The work of building the Party and the political system has received attention and care. The role of the Fatherland Front and its member organizations has been promoted, the consensus and solidarity of the entire people have been increasingly enhanced.

After 3 years of implementation, Thanh Tung commune was recognized by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee in Decision No. 616/QD-UBND dated March 20, 2024 to meet the NTM standards in 2023.

To maintain the achieved results and strive to build Thanh Tung commune into an advanced NTM commune in the coming time, comrade Trinh Van Nha - Chairman of Thanh Chuong District People's Committee requested the Party Committee, Government and People of the commune to thoroughly grasp the viewpoint "economic development is the central task", it is necessary to continue to focus on developing agriculture associated with accelerating trade and services; in all steps of economic development, it is necessary to always take into account the plan to protect the living environment. Actively promote the application of science and technology in production, liberating human labor; closely linking production with processing and consumption of products.

At the same time, it is necessary to link economic growth with cultural development and effectively resolve social issues. Regularly pay attention to Party building. Strengthen inspection and supervision work. Regularly pay attention to building a strong government, the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations. Improve the capacity to concretize policies and resolutions of Party committees; enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of government management and administration. Actively transform digitally, continue to promote administrative reform, especially implementing administrative procedures quickly, neatly, with discipline, without causing trouble for the people. Build a team of cadres of the Fatherland Front and mass organizations who know how to listen to the thoughts and aspirations of the people, have the capacity to mobilize the masses; closely coordinate with the government to perform well the function of social supervision and criticism; participate in contributing ideas to build the Party, build a clean and strong government...
