Thinh Son Commune, Do Luong District, has achieved the New Rural Area status.
(Baonghean.vn) -On the morning of December 20th, Thinh Son commune, Do Luong district, held a ceremony to receive the certificate recognizing the commune as having achieved the New Rural Area standard in 2014.Attending the ceremony were Comrade Nguyen Ho Lam - Deputy Head of the Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for the New Rural Development Program, representatives from various provincial departments, leaders of Do Luong district, and a large number of local people.

After more than four years of implementing the National Target Program for building new rural areas, the Party Committee, government, and people of Thinh Son commune, Do Luong district, have worked together to complete all 19 criteria for building new rural areas. To achieve this success, cadres and Party members have set a good example by leading in emulation movements; the people have voluntarily donated land and hundreds of structures on their land to improve rural transportation. In 2014, the total social income of Thinh Son reached 186.9 billion VND, with an average income of 34 million VND per person per year, and the poverty rate decreased to 4%.

At the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Ho Lam, Deputy Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for the New Rural Development Program, presented the Certificate of Recognition for achieving National Standards in New Rural Development to the officials and people of Thinh Son commune, Do Luong district. On this occasion, the Provincial People's Committee awarded Thinh Son commune a welfare project worth 500 million VND. The Do Luong District People's Committee also awarded Thinh Son commune 100 million VND and presented certificates of merit to collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in implementing the National Target Program for New Rural Development.
