Tien Ky Commune (Tan Ky) meets new rural commune standards
On May 22, Tien Ky commune (Tan Ky district) solemnly held a ceremony to announce the commune meeting new rural standards in 2024.

Tien Ky is a remote commune with a natural land area of nearly 3,488 hectares, 25 km from the district center. The whole commune has 1,412 households with 6,071 people living in 5 hamlets and villages, of which the Thai ethnic group accounts for 72.1%.
Identifying the national target program for new rural construction as a major, long-term policy, the Party Executive Committee of Tien Ky commune has therefore developed a thematic resolution to focus on leadership implementation. The locality has chosen a breakthrough to complete the criteria. That is, focusing on economic development to increase people's income.
Tien Ky commune promotes economic restructuring in a positive direction: increasing the proportion of small-scale industry, construction, services, trade, encouraging people to learn a trade, and export labor. People apply scientific and technical advances in cultivation and animal husbandry, bringing about quite good economic efficiency, such as the model of breeding pigs, the model of concentrated sugarcane cultivation...
In the commune, there are products of Van Tien wine and Chin Xom that have been recognized by the People's Committee of Tan Ky district as achieving 3-star OCOP. The village has a brocade weaving craft in Thai Minh village, gradually affirming the brand of brocade products in the market, creating jobs for female workers in the area. At the same time, there are beautiful landscapes and unique cultural features of the Thai ethnic group, so the locality has conditions to develop a homestay community tourism model.
Up to now, people's lives have been improved, the number of well-off households has increased, the number of poor households has decreased, and the face of the countryside has become more prosperous and comprehensively renewed.

The annual economic growth rate is 9-10%. In 2024, the total production value in the area is estimated to reach 301 billion 579 million VND, equal to 115% of the plan, the average income per capita is 47.26 million VND/year. The poverty rate has decreased to 3.11%.
In 2024, the whole commune will have 5/5 hamlets recognized as cultural villages and cultural families, reaching a rate of 81.1%. There are 16.9 km of commune and inter-commune roads asphalted and concreted. Up to now, all 3 schools in the commune have met national standards level 1...
Speaking at the announcement ceremony, comrade Nguyen Van Thuc - Vice Chairman of Tan Ky District People's Committee acknowledged and highly appreciated the results that the Party Committee, government and people of Tien Ky commune have achieved in the process of implementing the National Target Program on New Rural Construction. At the same time, he emphasized a number of tasks in the coming time to strive to build a commune that meets advanced new rural standards.

At the ceremony, comrade Vo Thi Nhung - Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment awarded the certificate of recognition of the commune meeting new rural standards in 2024 to the Party Committee and people of Tien Ky commune, and awarded a bonus to build a project worth 500 million VND.

On this occasion, the People's Committee of Nghe An province awarded Certificates of Merit to 3 collectives and 5 individuals; the People's Committee of Tan Ky district also awarded Certificates of Merit to 3 collectives and 6 individuals for their many achievements in implementing the movement "Nghe An joins hands to build new rural areas".
