Spillway of the largest reservoir in Western Nghe An to respond to storm No. 4 Podul
(Baonghean.vn) - To respond to storm No. 4 Podul, Phu Quy Irrigation Company Limited is discharging water according to the procedure for the spillway of Song Sao reservoir, the largest reservoir in Western Nghe An.

Song Sao Lake is located in Nghia Lam and Nghia Dan communes, irrigating over 6,000 hectares in Thai Hoa and Nghia Dan towns. The lake currently has 30/51 million cubic meters of water. According to forecasts, today and tonight, storm Podul will make landfall in Nghe An and cause heavy rain.
In order to proactively respond to floods, Song Sao Lake has 1 spillway with a discharge capacity of 300 m3/s. Discharge time starts from 7:00 a.m. on August 29 to August 31, expected to discharge over 10 million m3 of water.

Mr. Hoang Tran Lam - representative of Phu Quy Irrigation Company Limited said: 24 hours before the spillway discharge, the irrigation unit had notified the People's Committee of Nghia Dan district and 4 communes in the area. With the low discharge flow, it will not affect production and daily life in the downstream area.
In addition, depending on the weather and water flow to Song Sao Lake, the unit will continue to operate the spillways according to the correct procedures to ensure the safety of the reservoir.

Tomorrow (October 16) Vuc Mau Lake will overflow
(Baonghean.vn) - The rainfall in the past 2 days in Hoang Mai Town has been very heavy, the water level of Vuc Mau Lake is rising rapidly. Hoang Mai Irrigation Enterprise will discharge the overflow of Vuc Mau Lake from 7am tomorrow morning (October 16).
