Tuong Son Commune (Anh Son District): Organized the Spring 2012 Football Tournament

(Baonghean.vn) -To celebrate the 82nd anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam and to welcome the Year of the Dragon, on the afternoon of January 26th (the 4th day of Tet), Tuong Son commune (Anh Son district) held the opening ceremony of the 2012 Spring Football Tournament.

This is a traditional local men's football tournament aimed at celebrating the Lunar New Year, expanding interaction and solidarity among people of all social classes, and encouraging enthusiasm in labor and production.

The 2012 Spring Football Tournament of Tuong Son Commune brought together 12 teams from 12 villages and hamlets, divided into 4 groups (3 teams per group) to play a round-robin format to select 8 teams for the quarterfinals, then 4 teams for the semifinals, and finally 2 deserving teams for the final match. The tournament is expected to conclude on February 1st (the 10th day of the Lunar New Year).

Immediately after the opening ceremony, two matches took place: one between the teams from Hamlet 8 and Hamlet 9; and another between Hamlet 5 and Hamlet 7.
