Tuong Son Commune (Anh Son): Organizing the 2012 Spring Football Tournament

(Baonghean.vn) -On the occasion of the 82nd anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Spring of the Year of the Dragon, on the afternoon of January 26 (the 4th day of the Lunar New Year), Tuong Son commune (Anh Son district) organized the opening ceremony of the 2012 Spring Football Tournament.

This is a traditional local men's football tournament aimed at celebrating Tet and welcoming Spring, expanding exchanges, solidarity and cohesion among people of all walks of life and encouraging enthusiasm in production and labor.

The 2012 Spring Football Tournament of Tuong Son commune gathered 12 teams from 12 villages and was divided into 4 groups (3 teams each group) to compete in a round robin to select 8 teams to enter the quarter-finals, then select 4 teams to enter the semi-finals and finally select 2 worthy teams to compete in the final match. The tournament is expected to end on February 1 (the 10th day of Tet).

Right after the opening ceremony, two matches took place between teams from hamlet 8 and hamlet 9; hamlet 5 and hamlet 7.
