Vien Thanh Commune (Yen Thanh) meets New Rural standards

(Baonghean.vn) - In more than 5 years of implementing the program, Vien Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district, Nghe An has mobilized more than 370 billion VND, of which people contributed over 70%; mobilized 600 households to donate nearly 4 hectares of residential land.

People also demolished thousands of square meters of fences, houses, constructions, and assets worth over 11 billion VND; contributed over 26 hectares of agricultural land to renovate 138 intra-field roads, with a length of 139 km; and concreted and asphalted over 30 km of commune roads, hamlet roads, and alley roads.

Economic and social infrastructure has been invested synchronously, the transportation system has been gradually completed, the electricity and irrigation systems have been invested in to basically meet the needs of production and people's lives; creating conditions and motivation for people to compete in developing production and building a cultural lifestyle.

Along with agricultural development, taking advantage of National Highway 7 passing through, the locality creates conditions and encourages people to develop business, diversify occupations, and increase income.

Thanks to that, in recent years, the average income per capita of Vien Thanh people has increased (in 2011 it was 18.71 million VND, in 2016 it was estimated to reach 27.96 million VND/person/year). The number of relatively rich households has also increased, the number of poor households is only over 4.7%.

The new rural construction movement has brought a new vitality to Vien Thanh, when the quality of life has been improved, both materially and spiritually. School, medical and cultural facilities have been invested in, creating a learning environment, health care conditions and developing local cultural and sports movements.

After 5 years of building the New Rural Area, with the joint efforts of the entire Party Committee, government and local people, and the support of the State, Vien Thanh commune has completed the goal of building the New Rural Area.

On this occasion, the People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to 4 collectives and 4 individuals with outstanding achievements in the Nghe An movement to join hands to build new rural areas, period 2011-2016; 4 collectives and 4 individuals received certificates of merit from the Chairman of the District People's Committee for outstanding achievements in the Yen Thanh movement to join hands to build new rural areas, period 2011-2016./.
