Xuan Lam Commune (Nam Dan) received the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces

On the morning of December 19, the Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Xuan Lam commune (Nam Dan) solemnly held a ceremony to receive the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces and launch the construction of an advanced new-style rural commune.

At the ceremony, delegates reviewed the glorious and heroic traditional history of the Party Committee and People of Xuan Lam commune in the cause of national liberation struggle and national construction and protection.

In particular, during the resistance war against the US, the cadres and people of Xuan Lam commune built a solid people's war posture. They directed the establishment of four suicide boat rowing teams at Van Ru and Cho Lieu ferry terminals, transporting soldiers, weapons, ammunition, food and provisions day and night across the Lam River to promptly support the southern battlefield.

During the course of their duties, many soldiers in the rowing team heroically sacrificed their lives, and many others were injured. During the fierce period of the resistance war against the US, Xuan Lam commune also established 3 suicide teams to dig and clear mines, each team had 10-12 people with the task of liberating waterways, roads and dike 42 to serve the fight; established 2 bicycle companies with 120 people with the task of transporting food and provisions to the southern battlefield.

In the first phase of 1968 alone, the Cart Company transported more than 500 tons of food and provisions. Xuan Lam was also an area that was fiercely attacked by the enemy, suffering heavy losses in human lives and property, but with the spirit of "all the South's blood", generations of Xuan Lam youth volunteered to join the army during the years of resistance against the US.

With their contributions and sacrifices for the cause of national liberation, on September 1, 2020, the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam signed Decision No. 1521/QD-CTN to confer the title "Hero of the People's Armed Forces" on the People and Armed Forces of Xuan Lam Commune, Nam Dan District.

At the ceremony, authorized by the President, comrade Hoang Nghia Hieu - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces to the People and armed forces of Xuan Lam commune, Nam Dan district.

On this occasion, Xuan Lam commune launched a movement for the entire population to continue joining hands and contributing to the construction of advanced new rural areas in the 2020 - 2023 period, towards building a model new rural commune. Accordingly, representatives of hamlet units responded and signed a commitment to compete and work together to build the rural face of the commune to become more and more prosperous, rich, beautiful and civilized.
