The Mirror reported yesterday that the swordfish was discovered by John and Helen Swancott while walking their dog along Freshwater East beach in Pembrokeshire, Wales. "I couldn't believe there was a swordfish in our waters, it was so exciting. It must have been 2.4 metres long and weighed between 68 and 90kg," John said.
Swordfish are commonly found in the warmer waters of the Indian Ocean, Pacific Ocean and Mediterranean Sea. They are very rarely seen near the UK, where temperatures are much colder.
