(Baonghean)As reported, on March 30th and 31st, 2013, at the home of Mr. Nguyen Hoai Thanh (in Hoa Phuc hamlet, Nghia Phuc commune, Tan Ky district), various objects such as towels, plastic containers, blankets, curtains, mattresses, and sacks of rice spontaneously caught fire 33 times; causing Mr. Thanh's family to panic and worry, forcing them to evacuate the house.

On the morning of April 3rd, scientists from the Nghe An Department of Science and Technology and Vinh University visited Mr. Thanh's family to inspect and verify the incident; they also collected soil, gas, and burnt items for testing using scientific methods to determine the cause of the fire.

Based on initial investigations at the scene, scientists believe the cause of the fire likely originated from a natural phenomenon, rather than a mysterious event as many locals have speculated.

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Hoa Du – Head of the Chemistry Department at Vinh University, stated that the cause of the spontaneous combustion of objects at Mr. Nguyen Hoai Thanh's home is still being researched by scientists to reach the most accurate conclusion.
