Bac Giang lychee is officially exported to Thailand
The Mall Group has just introduced a batch of lychees to Thai consumers at 7 of the group's shopping centers.
At Gourmet Market - the leading supermarket specializing in selling food, foodstuffs and household goods in Thailand of The Mall Group, the first batch of fresh Bac Giang lychees has been sold at this supermarket.
Each box of lychee weighs 1kg and costs 299 Baht, equivalent to more than 200,000 VND. The lychee boxes are also labeled with QR codes to help customers easily trace the origin and source using mobile devices.

"Vietnamese lychees taste better than those from Thailand and China. The lychees have beautiful colors, small seeds, juicy flesh, and are very fragrant and sweet. This is the first time we have sold Vietnamese lychees at 7 Mall Group stores in Bangkok and will expand to all branches next year. Also next year, in addition to lychees, we will import Vietnamese mangoes into Thailand," said the CEO of Ekthai Company.
The Vietnam Trade Office in Thailand said that although this is not the first time Vietnamese lychees have appeared in the Thai market, this is the first time Vietnamese lychees have appeared simultaneously in the country's 7 largest shopping mall systems. This shows that Vietnamese lychees have a lot of potential in the Thai market.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Huy - Representative of the Vietnam Trade Office in Thailand said: "In addition to market-related issues, the trade office in Thailand also focuses on seasonal factors - a factor known as the key to success in promoting the export of agricultural products. When at the beginning of July, the lychee output of Thailand as well as China imported into Thailand decreased, it was a great opportunity to bring Vietnamese lychee into the Thai market."
Thailand spends more than $1 billion a year importing fresh fruit and $600 million on vegetables. Currently, the country only allows the import of four types of fruit from Vietnam: dragon fruit, mango, longan and lychee.
