At the same time, improve the quality of agricultural products and increase the added value of products" - that is one of the development orientations suggested by comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee at the meeting on August 18 with the leaders of Anh Son district.

Developing economic models

Within the framework of the working program in Anh Son (August 18), Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Xuan Duong and the working delegation spent a lot of time inspecting the economic development models of the district. In addition to the tea and sugarcane growing models, the working delegation visited the high-tech clean vegetable, root and fruit garden in Hoi Son commune invested by Kim Nhan Green Agriculture Company Limited. The model of growing vegetables and fruits in greenhouses, using a drip irrigation system, growing agricultural products such as melons, tomatoes, and various vegetables. The area scale of the first phase is 2,500m2 with a total investment of about 1.6 billion VND.

Considering this to be a fairly successful initial commodity economic model with high-quality melon products and stable output, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized: In order for the Kim Nhan clean vegetable project to have high economic efficiency, early capital recovery time and sustainable development, enterprises together with the district and related sectors need to focus on building product brands.

At the high-quality sugarcane field in Hoa Son commune invested by Song Lam Sugarcane Joint Stock Company, sugarcane is growing green and lush like a carpet. On an area of ​​90 hectares of alluvial land, people and businesses have boldly converted ineffective crops, brought sugarcane to alluvial land and structured new varieties LK9211, QD 93159..., the average yield in 3 years is 90 tons/ha. This is also a reasonable conversion of crop structure, suitable for the soil and climate in the region. The construction of large, high-yield sugarcane fields by Hoa Son people is considered a "lever", changing life in the near future.

Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Song Lam Sugarcane Joint Stock Company said: The conversion of sugarcane to the Lam River area is aimed at building large-scale fields to meet the inevitable requirements of agricultural development in the direction of goods. Currently, Hoa Son commune alone has more than 137 hectares of sugarcane. To direct new planting to ensure the area, the Commune People's Committee, sugarcane planting contract owners and officials of Song Lam Sugarcane Joint Stock Company visited a number of models in Nghia Dan district to bring all new varieties with high efficiency and productivity to plant. The 2017 - 2018 crushing season is expected to have an average yield of 80 - 100 tons/ha.

Being dynamic and creative to increase the value of tea, a local staple crop, many processing facilities here have not only invested in improving productivity and quality of raw materials, but also brought the Japanese Tencha tea processing line into production, diversifying products and increasing the value of tea.

Visiting Quy Oanh Cooperative - one of the tea processing models in Hung Son commune, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee was pleased with the positive results of the facility. In addition to traditional tea processing, Quy Oanh Cooperative also produces Tencha tea using Japanese technology with machinery invested by JICA.

This model covers an area of ​​0.3 hectares, with technical steps from care, fertilization to harvesting all supplied and purchased by Jica. Currently, the cooperative has an output of 500 tons of fresh tea equivalent to 10 tons of dry tea per year; the model has been assessed as feasible and is expected to expand in the near future.

Continue to focus on attracting investment

At the meeting with the district leaders, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Xuan Duong assessed: Mr. Son has implemented the Resolution of the Party Congress with specific programs and projects. Thereby, people's lives have been renewed and the economy has developed.

In particular, the district has paid attention to investment promotion and business development, which has been well implemented; attracting many large projects in the area such as: MDF wood fiberboard production project in Tri Le Industrial Park, Khai Son commune with a total investment of more than 1,754 billion VND; High-tech pig breed production project in Tam Son commune with a total investment of 250 billion VND; High-tech livestock science research center investment project in Hung Son commune with a total investment of 350 billion VND; Kim Nhan PLAZA conference, sports and tourism center project in Anh Son town with a total investment of 61,539 billion VND; Trade center project, comprehensive service business in Anh Son town...

Anh Son was chosen by the province as a key dynamic economic zone, an important district in the development strategy of Western Nghe An. In order for the locality to develop rapidly, becoming one of the three growth poles of the province, in the coming time, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the district to continue to focus on directing resolutely, with key focus on programs and projects for the period 2015 - 2020 according to the Action Program of the District Party Committee on implementing the Resolution of the 20th Party Congress of Anh Son district, term 2015-2020. In particular, it is necessary to pay attention to the targets of 2017 such as: Growth rate, attention to implementing hunger eradication, poverty reduction, social security, especially in poor and disadvantaged communes...

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also said that, in order to fully exploit the existing potential advantages, Anh Son district needs to focus on attracting investment, especially strongly attracting investment in the fields of agriculture and processing industry in industrial parks and clusters to develop the district's key products. At the same time, promote the application of science and technology in agricultural production to increase productivity and value; how to develop agriculture in the direction of goods, form more specialized raw material growing areas, ensure raw materials for processing and exporting products such as tea, cassava starch, clean fuel, etc. Accelerate the construction of new rural areas, strive to have 3 more communes meeting NTM standards this year.

"To achieve the above goals, the most important issue is to improve the quality of grassroots cadres; to ensure that all policies and guidelines of the Party, State, and the province are well implemented at the grassroots level" - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Xuan Duong emphasized.

In the first 7 months of 2017, the economic growth rate in Anh Son district reached 7.52%. Of which, the agriculture, forestry and fishery sector increased by 3.4%; the construction industry sector increased by 14.05%, and the service sector increased by 8%. The average added value per capita reached 24.1 million VND.

The results of the provincial excellent student exam last school year ranked second in the province; the rate of communes meeting national health standards is high, with 19/21 communes expected to reach 90% by the end of the year; social policies are given attention and implemented promptly; the poverty rate continues to decrease to 10.77%.
