Building Nghe An Province Post Office for sustainable development

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of August 15, Nghe An Provincial Post Office held a meeting to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Postal Industry's tradition (August 15, 1945 - August 15, 2015) and the 68th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam Postal Union (August 30, 1947 - August 30, 2015).

Attending the ceremony were comrades: Chu Quang Hao, Deputy General Director of Vietnam Post Corporation; Ho Quang Thanh, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Department of Information and Communications; Thai Khac Thu, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of Nghe An Provincial Enterprises, representatives of the leaders of the Provincial Labor Federation and the Nghe An Provincial Civil Servants' Union.

Over the past 70 years since its establishment, Nghe An Provincial Post Office has overcome many difficulties and shortages, strived to develop and achieve many achievements. The unit was awarded by the State the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces in 1996; Hero of Labor in 2000; 9 First, Second, Third Class Labor Medals and many other noble titles.

Since the separation in 2008 based on the reorganization of the postal business sector of the old Nghe An Post Office, followed by the milestone of comprehensive separation in 2013, the unit has gradually modernized the network, diversified services, been confident and proactive in production and business management, completed the plan each year higher than the previous year; the workers' lives have been improved.

Besides, Nghe An Post Office always does a good job in social work such as: helping poor communes, taking care of Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, visiting and giving gifts to war invalids and families of martyrs in the postal industry...

Speaking at the ceremony, comrade Ho Quang Thanh, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Department of Information and Communications, said that after more than 10 years of performing the task of state management of postal services in the province, the Department of Information and Communications has always highly appreciated the implementation of legal regulations on postal services, the effective organization of production and business, ensuring public services for the people, ensuring smooth communication and healthy competition in the market of the Provincial Post Office; at the same time, he affirmed that the Department of Information and Communications will continue to accompany the Provincial Post Office in the development process.

Comrade Chu Quang Hao, Deputy General Director of Vietnam Post Corporation, also acknowledged the outstanding achievements of Nghe An Provincial Post Office in recent years. In the coming time, he requested that the staff and workers of Nghe An Provincial Post Office continue to inherit and promote traditions, strive, compete in labor; at the same time, coordinate well with local authorities to excellently complete assigned tasks. From there, build Nghe An Provincial Post Office to develop sustainably, contributing to the development of Vietnam Post Corporation.

Next, the unit organized a summary of 5 years of the 2-good movement of female workers, civil servants, and employees of Nghe An Post Office in the period 2010 - 2015. Accordingly, the Trade Union of Vietnam Post Corporation awarded Certificates of Merit to 2 groups and 2 individuals. The Provincial Post Office Trade Union also awarded 7 groups and 62 individuals.

The organizing committee awarded two groups for their outstanding achievements in the 2-good movement.

The organizing committee awarded prizes to the winning authors of the writing contest about 70 years of tradition of the Vietnam Postal Industry.

The organizing committee also concluded the writing contest on the 70-year tradition of the Vietnam Postal Service. At the same time, a collective prize was awarded to the unit with the most articles. Regarding individual prizes, the unit awarded 1 first prize, 2 second prizes, 3 third prizes and 8 consolation prizes.

Provincial Post Office staff enthusiastically participated in the tug of war competition.

Also in the program to celebrate the traditional day, Nghe An Provincial Post Office organized sports and cultural exchanges for officers and employees.
