(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of March 20, the Provincial Party Standing Committee held a meeting to listen to reports and give opinions on completing the detailed planning plan for the construction of Cua Lo Port and the investment policy for the container manufacturing factory project in the Southeast Economic Zone.

Cua Lo Port Cluster is planned as an international seaport cluster (The project is invested by the Southeast Economic Zone, serving the import and export needs of the province and neighboring provinces of the North Central region, attracting a part of goods from Laos and Northeastern Thailand.

Cua Lo Port Cluster is planned to develop in harmony with nature, associated with marine environment protection and tourism development; towards a clean, friendly seaport with the best service in the region.

In the future, Cua Lo Port Cluster will have ships with a capacity of up to 100,000 DWT and international passenger ships with 3,000 - 5,000 seats when conditions permit. Cua Lo Port Cluster is planned to have a land area of ​​over 104 hectares, by 2030, the expected cargo capacity through the port is from 20 - 25 million tons.

After listening to the opinions of some members attending the meeting, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Dac Vinh said: The investor must build and report progress. The appraisal and planning procedures must be in accordance with the regulations concluded by the Prime Minister at the working session with Nghe An provincial leaders in September 2016.

Building Cua Lo Port Cluster is a task associated with the National Defense and Security strategy, so it is necessary to consult with the authorities. Environmental factors also need to be carefully calculated to ensure absolute safety on a scientific basis. Port logistics services also need to be taken into account when the amount of goods and people entering and leaving the port is large.

Regarding the container manufacturing plant of KTV Group, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Dac Vinh directed relevant departments and branches to complete the dossier for converting land use purposes according to regulations. He requested the Provincial People's Committee to work with Hemaraj Company to reach an agreement on the land allocated for the project within the Company's project land planning. He requested the investor to commit to implementing the registered progress, scale, and investment items.
