Establishing a defense zone in Quynh Luu

(Baonghean.vn) - On November 13th, the People's Committee of Quynh Luu district held a conference to review the results of 5 years of building and operating the defense zone.

Over the years, Quynh Luu district has directed the District Military Command to take the lead in coordinating with district-level departments and agencies to train and conduct combat and security exercises for 8 communes and towns, with 89% achieving good or excellent results.

The district regularly adjusts and supplements its defense operational plans, plans for countering riots and disturbances, and plans for preventing air and sea intrusions; it also refines plans for protecting defense zones and regularly practices fire prevention and control, and flood and storm prevention.

Overview of the Conference.

From 2014 to the present, Quynh Luu district has invested in repairing and completing the 130mm artillery tunnel project, reclaiming nearly 1.5 hectares of land of national defense origin to continue planning for expansion of the area to build a reserve soldier training area, a troop assembly area for riot and disturbance prevention (Area A2) combined with a concentrated livestock farming area.

The leaders of Quynh Luu district requested the District Defense Council to continue to leverage the combined strength of the entire political system to build a strong national defense system linked with a robust people's security posture; to continue to effectively implement the grassroots democracy regulations; and to focus on building the regional defense posture, completing area A2, and the coastal defense system./.
