Building Nghe An province's defense zone to be politically stable and economically strong

Implementing Resolution 28 of the 10th Politburo, over the past 10 years, Nghe An has continuously grasped, deployed, built and operated the provincial defense zone, achieving many important results, maintaining political stability, creating a favorable environment for socio-economic development.

The national defense posture and people's security posture in the area have been consolidated and enhanced. The awareness of cadres, party members, armed forces and people of the province about national defense and security tasks, about building and operating defense zones has been enhanced, creating national solidarity in building and protecting the Fatherland.

The overall quality, level and combat strength of the armed forces have been raised. Thereby, Nghe An has successfully carried out the two strategic tasks of building and defending the Fatherland.

At the conference, delegates focused on analyzing and evaluating the achievements as well as the shortcomings and limitations in the implementation of Resolution 28 of the 10th Politburo and proposed directions, tasks and solutions to build Nghe An province into a solid defense zone in the coming time.

Accordingly, in the coming years, the world and regional situation will continue to have new complex developments, requiring Nghe An to constantly strive to continue leading, directing and implementing the task of building and operating the defense zone to achieve high results....

To effectively carry out its tasks, Nghe An will continue to effectively implement Resolution 28 (Term X), in conjunction with the implementation of Resolution No. 28 dated October 25, 2013 of the Party Central Committee (Term XI) on "Homeland Protection Strategy in the New Situation", Resolution No. 24 dated April 20, 2018 of the Politburo of the 12th Term on "Vietnam's National Defense Strategy", Decree 152/2007/ND-CP and Decree 02/2016/ND-CP of the Prime Minister on defense zones.

Promote the strength of the political system and the national solidarity bloc, build a province's defense zone that is politically stable and economically strong, ensuring solid national defense and security; effectively prevent and combat, and defeat the "Peaceful Evolution" and violent overthrow plots of hostile forces, not to be passive or surprised; maintain political security, social order and safety, and create a peaceful and favorable environment for socio-economic development.

Speaking at the conference, Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong - Member of the Party Central Committee, Commander of Military Region 4 highly appreciated the efforts and achievements of Nghe An province in implementing Resolution 28 of the 10th Politburo.

Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong suggested: In the coming time, the political security situation in Nghe An still has many potential complex factors. To ensure the high results of the defense zone activities, Nghe An needs to continue to deploy and effectively implement resolutions and directives; do a good job of political and ideological education; build a solid people's position, a national defense position associated with people's security; take care to build a modern elite armed force, a strong militia and self-defense force; pay attention to investing in building positions and military works in the defense zone; do a good job of foreign affairs with Laos.
