(Baonghean.vn)-Building Nam Dan into a key tourism district of the country is identified as a solution to help President Ho Chi Minh's hometown develop properly and sustainably.
According to the Draft report submitted to the Provincial Party Standing Committee on the direction and tasks for the development of Nam district
On the morning of April 10, under the chairmanship of comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, the Provincial People's Committee held a Conference to collect comments on the Draft Resolution of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee on the direction and tasks for the development of Nam Dan district in the period of 2017-2025 with a vision to 2030. Attending the conference were Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Dinh Thien - Director of the Vietnam Economic Institute, comrades in the Provincial Party Standing Committee: Cao Thi Hien - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Le Xuan Dai - Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee. Comrades Vice Chairmen of the Provincial People's Committee: Huynh Thanh Dien, Dinh Viet Hong and representatives of leaders of departments, branches and leaders of Nam Dan district also attended. |
Regarding the period 2017-2020, with a view to 2030, comrade Bui Dinh Long - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of Nam Dan District Party Committee presented that the goal of Nam Dan is to build a district that meets the model new rural standards associated with developing tourism services, on that basis, build targets and propose tasks and solutions for implementation.
Commenting on the content of the Draft Resolution, Associate Professor Dr. Tran Dinh Thien - Director of the Vietnam Economic Institute said: Nam Dan's development has not been commensurate with its potential advantages. Orienting Nam Dan to develop, Associate Professor Dr. Tran Dinh Thien emphasized: Tourism is the "exclusive" strength of Nam Dan but currently it is only a sightseeing destination, not a tourist destination. Therefore, the orientation for Nam Dan to develop is: to build Nam Dan into a key national tourism center. "Nam Dan must build Kim Lien into a "high-class" tourist destination. Take high-class tourism as a pillar, a spearhead industry, and the agricultural, industrial and environmental sectors must develop according to that goal"

Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Dinh Thien also said: "To achieve the set goals, Nam Dan needs to have a plan along with strengthening inspection and supervision so as not to disrupt the plan for immediate benefits. At the same time, Nam Dan also needs to create an attractive environment to attract leading enterprises, creating momentum as a pillar for the implementation of the development goal of turning Nam Dan into a national tourism center. As for Nghe An province, the task set for the province is to build a national project to develop Nam Dan into a national tourism center."
Sharing the same view, Mr. Huynh Thanh Dien - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee suggested: The Draft Resolution needs to be aware of the reality of Nam Dan's tourism development, which still has many limitations. In terms of investment attraction, Nam Dan is relying on the Central and the province, attracting investment and socializing local resources is still limited. For example, Nam Dan does not have any restaurants that are attractive to tourists, the trading of goods serving tourism in Kim Lien Relic Site is still shabby and messy...
Regarding the construction of Nam Dan town, according to comrade Huynh Thanh Dien, the locality needs to exploit the advantages of Da River and Lam River. The draft Resolution should set out the task of expanding the Phan Boi Chau Memorial Site to build it into a tourist destination of Nam Dan. The task of Nam Dan is to plan zoning; focus on attracting investment in the tourism and service sectors, and socialize resources for infrastructure investment.
Commenting on the Draft Resolution, Comrade Dau Van Thanh - Director of the Department of Home Affairs said that in order to achieve the goal of building Nam Dan into a National Tourism Center, the Draft Resolution needs to clearly identify the key point for tourism development in Nam Dan, which is Kim Lien. From there, connect with Vinh City, tourism and localities into a continuous tourism chain.

To become a national tourist center, in addition to planning work, Nam Dan needs to build a cultural lifestyle and focus on environmental sanitation because these areas are still very limited," said comrade Dau Van Thanh.

Concluding the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Xuan Duong affirmed: It is very necessary for the Provincial Party Standing Committee to issue a Resolution on the direction and tasks for the development of Nam Dan district in the 2017-2020 period, taking into account the year 2030.
According to the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, building and developing Nam Dan - the homeland of President Ho Chi Minh is first and foremost the task of the Party Committee, the government and the people of Nam Dan; it is the responsibility of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, the government, the Fatherland Front and provincial-level organizations and localities in the province. At the same time, it is very necessary to have the attention of the Central Government, social organizations at home and abroad with respect and love for the homeland of President Ho Chi Minh.
The concern of the provincial leaders is that Nam Dan has not developed to its full potential and advantages, so the Provincial Party Standing Committee issued a separate Resolution for Nam Dan, orienting Nam Dan to develop to its full potential and sustainably. In particular, the Resolution determined the direction to build Nam Dan into a key district for tourism and strive to soon become a model New Rural District of the whole country.
The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested Nam Dan district to synthesize the opinions of the delegates at this conference to supplement and complete the Resolution to submit to the Provincial Party Standing Committee for approval.
