Overview of the Conference

In 2013, despite the complex domestic and international situation and economic difficulties, thanks to the attention and guidance of the Central Ministries and Departments, the 4th Military Region Command, and the great efforts of the Party Committee and government, the effective coordination of departments, agencies, and mass organizations at all levels, and the officers and soldiers of the provincial armed forces, the tasks of national defense and security in 2013 were successfully implemented and completed, including: leading and directing the effective implementation of the Party's guidelines and policies and the State's laws on national defense and security; improving the quality and effectiveness of combat readiness, maintaining political stability and social order and safety of the armed forces; combating crime and carrying out state management work on national defense and security; building potential and establishing a national defense posture, linked with a people's security posture and a people's border defense posture, becoming increasingly solid; To build and operate defense zones to firmly protect independence, sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity.

Specifically, the authorities handled 55 cases, initiated legal proceedings in 29 cases involving 68 defendants, prosecuted 21 cases involving 27 defendants, investigated and clarified 788 out of 980 cases of crimes against social order; uncovered hundreds of major criminal and drug cases; arrested many dangerous individuals, ensuring the safety of officers, soldiers, and the people, preventing the formation of organized crime operating in a "mafia" style. They also implemented management functions related to immigration and border control, and supervised activities along the border. They effectively implemented the "2013 Year of Traffic Culture" and the campaign "Traffic Culture for Peaceful Waterways," imposing fines on 135,536 cases totaling 88 billion VND,...

The province has successfully completed the task of building up its armed forces, organizing two recruitment and conscription rounds with 3,300 young men who are healthy and have good political qualities.
