Building a cultural lifestyle from each family

(Baonghean) -Although newly established (2005), with the determination to build the ward into a cultural unit, in recent years, Hung Phuc has focused all resources, mobilized people to promote economic development, created all conditions for people and officials in the area to promote democracy, and joined hands to build a strong ward. In particular, the movement to build cultural families has received special attention from the ward.

Ms. Le Thi Bich Thao - Vice Chairman of the Ward People's Committee said: "The reason why the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life in residential areas" of the ward is always vibrant and durable is because in the direction process, the ward has paid special attention to mobilizing people to be aware of building a cultural life from each family". Having become a habit, in recent years, Hung Phuc has always maintained regular propaganda work on the content of the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life in residential areas" to the people. Thereby, organizing households to register to implement cultural family standards. Associated with the emulation movements of mass organizations such as: "Building a prosperous, equal, progressive, happy family" of the Women's Union; "Exemplary grandparents, filial children" of the Elderly Association; "Exemplary war veteran family" of the War Veterans Association; "Family of 6 standards" of the Farmers' Association... the movement to build a cultural family is increasingly going into substance and has depth.

Families pay more attention to fully exercising their rights and obligations as citizens, not violating the laws of the State and the conventions of the block. Village and neighborhood relationships are increasingly promoted and closely connected. In 7 years, the ward has invested nearly 2.5 billion VND to build and upgrade the cultural house; built an FM radio station worth 150 million VND with 18 transmitting and receiving clusters to serve propaganda work; built and renovated stadiums of blocks with a budget of billions of VND, serving the cultural activities and exercise needs of people in the ward. The movement to participate in cleaning blocks and streets is maintained, contributing to keeping village roads and alleys clean and beautiful. In particular, the movement to build a new cultural lifestyle has been actively responded to by people. In the past 2 years alone (2009-2011), over 50 weddings have been organized at the cultural house and at the ward headquarters yard according to the new lifestyle wedding model. Up to now, the whole ward has 8/11 blocks achieving the title of cultural block; 29/79 alleys are recognized as civilized alleys.

Raising awareness of building a cultural lifestyle from each family, every year, 100% of households register to implement the cultural family standard. From the striving consciousness of each family, the number of households meeting the cultural family standard is increasing. By the end of 2011, the whole ward had 1,973 families meeting the cultural family standard (accounting for 94.8%); 881 sports families (accounting for 41.8%). Typical families include: Mr. Ho Phuc Chien (Yen Vinh block), Vo Dinh Nguyen (Tan Phuc block), Dinh Thi Hoan (Yen Phuc block)...

The emulation movement for good production and business in Hung Phuc has developed strongly. The ward has many active solutions to support people in expanding their business and developing the economy such as attracting capital from policy banks, expanding savings credit funds among the people, creating favorable conditions in administrative procedures for business households to set up projects, mortgage assets... Besides, households are always conscious of taking care of economic development, promoting the spirit of creative labor, overcoming difficulties to become rich legitimately. Thanks to that, up to now, the ward has 130 business households, 10 LLCs, 2 private enterprises; the rate of well-off households accounts for 70%; the rate of poor households has decreased to 0.4%.

Implementing the campaign "All people unite to build a cultural life in residential areas", each family is aware of cultivating village and neighborhood love, strengthening solidarity, loving and helping each other, encouraging each other to take care of their children's education, educating their children to be filial. In 2011, the whole ward had 7 national excellent students, 24 provincial excellent students, 63 city excellent students, 120 students passed the university and college entrance exams. Typical examples are the family of Mrs. Le Thi Dung (Yen Binh); the family of Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hai, the family of Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Huong, the family of Ms. Nguyen Thi Dam (Yen Vinh block)...

Despite the many difficulties of a newly separated ward, Hung Phuc has made steady progress in all movements, becoming a strong unit in many fields. Achieving such encouraging results has the great contribution of each family and each citizen in the ward.
