Construction of a new office for the President's Office at 2 Le Thach Street.

The National Assembly has authorized the implementation of several necessary urgent mechanisms and solutions to carry out the project of renovating, repairing, upgrading, and constructing a new office building for the President at 2 Le Thach Street, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi.

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man has just signed a resolution on the policy of supplementing the charter capital for the period 2024-2026 of the parent company - Vietnam Expressway Investment and Development Corporation; and some urgent mechanisms and solutions necessary to implement the project of renovating, repairing, upgrading, and building a new office building for the Office of the President.

Accordingly, the National Assembly authorized the implementation of several necessary urgent mechanisms and solutions to carry out the project of renovating, repairing, upgrading, and constructing a new office building for the President at 2 Le Thach Street, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi.

The resolution directs the Government to organize and implement the project, ensuring progress, quality, cost-effectiveness, and efficiency, while preventing any negative incidents, losses, or waste of state budget funds.

The National Assembly approved the plan to invest additional charter capital for the parent company - Vietnam Expressway Investment and Development Corporation - for the period 2024-2026, with an additional amount of VND 38,251 billion.

Of this amount, the Development Investment Fund for enterprises contributed 1,562 billion VND; and the state budget allocated to the Ministry of Transport for investment in 5 expressway projects, with 35,689 billion VND already disbursed, is also included.

The address at 2 Le Thach Street is the Government Guest House (Northern Vietnam Government House building) - a famous historical landmark of Hanoi, with one side of the address at 12 Ngo Quyen Street in Hoan Kiem District.
At the center is a historic building with magnificent French-style architecture. The surrounding grounds are lush and green, featuring the Dien Hong flower garden (also known as the Toad Flower Garden) on Ngo Quyen Street and the Ly Thai To flower garden on Le Thach Street.
This building was previously used by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to receive international delegations and hold press conferences.
