A 7-seater vehicle was swept away by floods; one person is missing.
(Baonghean.vn) -While transporting instant noodles and clean water to Hoang Mai town to help residents on the night of October 1st, a 7-seater vehicle belonging to the Nghe An Department of Industry and Trade was swept away by floodwaters, resulting in one person missing.
On the afternoon of October 1st, the Nghe An Department of Industry and Trade prepared 10 tons of instant noodles and 100 cases of mineral water for emergency relief for flood victims in Hoang Mai town. Mr. Nguyen Tai Dung – Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, along with driver Nguyen Minh Cuong, drove a 7-seater vehicle loaded with instant noodles to the designated collection point on Hoang Mai bridge. However, due to the darkness and strong currents, the vehicle unexpectedly stalled and was swept away by the flood.

The driver struggled and managed to escape through the gap in the window, but Mr. Dung was swept away with the car. After getting out of the 7-seater vehicle, driver Cuong was brought ashore by the soldiers.
Upon receiving the information, rescue forces from Military Region 4 and the Provincial Military Command, along with the Provincial Flood and Storm Prevention and Search and Rescue Command, arrived at the scene and implemented emergency response plans. However, due to the deep water and darkness, the search was unsuccessful.

The area where the car was swept away was a bend in the road, about 70 meters from the edge of the Hoang Mai River. The rising floodwaters had completely submerged the road markers on both sides of the road.
Authorities are currently making every effort to search for and rescue the victims.
