Designed simply to minimize costs, Honda BR-V still has enough basic amenities and spacious space.

Honda has launched the 5-seat HR-V based on the Fit/Jazz (the hatchback version of the City) and plans to sell it globally. In the Southeast Asian market, the Japanese automaker is implementing the BR-V project, which is more localized and practical. This is a car based on Honda's low-cost platform, which has been used to create the compact Brio, Amaze and Mobilio, saving maximum costs but still ensuring quality.

The BR-V is 4,453 mm long, 1,735 mm wide, 1,666 mm high and has a wheelbase of 2,662 mm. The BR-V's ground clearance of 201 mm is the largest in the current B-class crossover SUV segment. Standard exterior equipment includes halogen headlights, LED daytime running lights, 16-inch wheels, and roof rack.

The highlight of the BR-V's interior is the arrangement of 3 rows of seats in a "stadium" style, meaning the row in the back is higher than the row in front of it, creating a good view. The air conditioner is manually adjusted, has air vents for the 2nd row of seats, 12V power outlet, 4-speaker sound system with integrated USB, AUX and Bluetooth. High-end options include leather upholstery, automatic air conditioning, and a 6.1-inch touch screen control screen.

Emphasizing practicality, the BR-V has a cargo space of 223 liters and up to 539 liters if the third row of seats is folded. The second row of seats can slide forward or backward, fold in a 60:40 ratio, and can extend to the third row of seats. Meanwhile, the last row of seats can only be folded in a 50:50 ratio.

Powering the car is a 1.5L SOHC i-VTEC engine with a capacity of 118 horsepower and a maximum torque of 145 Nm at 4,600 rpm, with an Earth Dreams CVT transmission. Standard safety features include VSA electronic balance, ABS anti-lock brakes, EBD, HSA hill-start assist, 4 airbags, rear camera, achieving 5-star ASEAN NCAP standard.

The BR-V SUV is sold in Malaysia for only VND450 million. It is likely that this model will be brought to Vietnam in the near future.
