Car crashes into sleeper bus, 2 seriously injured.
(Baonghean.vn) - At approximately 12:45 PM on July 18th, at the intersection of National Highway 46 and the Vinh City bypass, in Hung Tay commune (Hung Nguyen district), a four-seater car crashed head-on into the side of a sleeper bus, seriously injuring two people.
According to initial information, at the time of the incident, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Hung (born in 1962, residing in Thu Thuy ward, Cua Lo town) was driving a 4-seater car with license plate 37S-0022 on National Highway 46 in the direction from Nam Dan district to Vinh City.
Upon reaching the intersection with the Vinh City bypass, the vehicle suddenly crashed head-on into the side of a sleeper bus with license plate 47B-010.20, operating on the Bac Giang - Dak Lak route, driven by Mr. Dinh Xuan Manh (born in 1980, residing in Yen Dung, Bac Giang province).
The powerful impact sent the four-seater car bouncing back and spinning 180 degrees. The sleeper bus continued to travel another 100 meters before coming to a stop.

The accident left two people in the car, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Ha (52 years old, Mr. Hung's wife) and Mr. Nguyen Dinh Yen (Mrs. Ha's brother), seriously injured. They were taken to the hospital by local residents for emergency treatment. Fortunately, the airbags deployed, so Mr. Hung, the driver of the car, only suffered minor injuries.
At the scene, the front of the passenger car was completely deformed and mangled. There were large oil spills and debris scattered across the road. The right side of the sleeper bus was also severely damaged.
All more than 30 passengers on the sleeper bus were unharmed but experienced a moment of panic. Mr. Dao Van Cong (41 years old, from Bac Giang, currently working in Dak Lak) recounted that he and his daughter, Dao Nguyen Trang Tho (12 years old), were lying on the second floor, third row from the top, when they were startled by the strong impact. When they calmed down, everyone on the bus was in a panic when they saw a four-seater car had crashed into the side of the bus, its front end severely damaged.
Lieutenant Colonel Ho Hung Cuong, Deputy Head of the Traffic Police Team of Hung Nguyen District Police, said that the accident resulted in two people being injured and hospitalized for emergency treatment. This is a "black spot" for traffic accidents as the two newly widened and upgraded roads have not yet been equipped with warning signs and traffic lights.
According to residents of Hung Tay commune, since the two roads were put into use, they have witnessed many traffic accidents, including several serious accidents resulting in fatalities, at this "deadly" intersection.
By 2:30 PM on July 18th, a tow truck was removing the car from the scene to prevent traffic congestion. Passengers on the sleeper bus were transferred to another vehicle to continue their journey.
