Car plunges into lake, young man dies overnight
(Baonghean.vn) - In the dark, a car lost control and crashed into an irrigation lake, killing a young man.
The traffic accident occurred at 9:00 p.m. on November 8 in Thanh Thuy commune, Thanh Chuong district.

According to witnesses, the car with license plate 37A – 496. XX, driven by Nguyen Van Tai (24 years old), residing in Khai Tien village, Vo Liet commune, Thanh Chuong district, was traveling on National Highway 46 in the direction of Vo Liet – Thanh Thuy. When it just reached Dong Danh irrigation lake, it lost control and crashed into the lake on the left side of the road.

The strong impact and deep water caused the car to sink. There were two people in the car at the time of the accident. Phan Duy Thoai (from the same commune) escaped from the car and tried to pull Tai out of the cockpit, but because Tai could not swim, he sank immediately afterwards.
Immediately after receiving the news, the Fire Fighting and Rescue Team of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department, Nghe An Provincial Police dispatched 2 vehicles and rubber boats with 12 officers and soldiers to the scene to search.
After 4 hours of diving and searching in the cold night, around 1am on November 9, people were able to recover Mr. Tai's body from the sinking not far from the accident site. At that time, Mr. Tai had already died.

At the scene, the crashed car was lifted and placed on an empty lot. The authorities handed over Mr. Tai’s body to his family for burial.
The cause of the accident is being investigated by Thanh Chuong District Police.
It is known that Mr. Tai works as a taxi driver, the second child in a family of 2 brothers. His older brother also passed away in a traffic accident a few years ago, the family's circumstances are difficult.
