Mitsubishi's upcoming MPV could be sold in multiple countries in the Southeast Asian region. |
After the "mini" Innova, Toyota Sienta landed in many markets in the Southeast Asian region last year causing no small regret, Mitsubishi also started planning to launch a new product to "block" the opponent in this segment. Recently, the all-new MPV of Mitsubishi, formerly known as Expander, was officially revealed right before the Gaikindo Indonesia 2017 exhibition taking place on August 10.
Mitsubishi's new MPV was born to conquer young customers who need a spacious multi-purpose vehicle but with a strong, sporty design like a crossover. This is also what Toyota applied to Sienta, but if compared to the design of Expander, it is still far behind. Mitsubishi proudly said that the design of the car impresses everyone who sees it because it converges the quintessence of both MPV and crossover lines.
Mitsubishi's new MPV has a sporty design that is not inferior to any SUV. |
It can be clearly seen that the front of the car has a rather short but impressive design with a 2-layer radiator grille, large air intakes integrated with the headlights while the thin LED daytime running lights are placed above, and the round fog lights are integrated with the front bumper. The two sides of the car body are strong with two sharp embossed ribs, the rear of the car has unique taillights and X-shaped embossed doors, a spoiler on the roof...
Although it is a small MPV, Mitsubishi still equips the car with 3 rows of seats, the entire space feels airy, simple, not too colorful but still modern with a large entertainment screen. All thanks to the car's size of 4,475 mm long, 1,750 mm wide, 1,700 mm high, which Mitsubishi said is wider and larger than competing models in the same segment.

It is expected that Mitsubishi will equip the new rookie with a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder gasoline engine combined with a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission to distribute power to the 2 front wheels. Currently, we have to wait until the 2017 Gaikindo Indonesia exhibition to officially name the car, but the expected selling price is around 189 - 246 million rupiah, equivalent to 14,175 USD - 18,450 USD. The car will be sold this fall, competing directly with the Toyota Sienta or Honda BR-V...
