The future of cars will be connected cars, allowing you to drive and make purchases at the same time. |
If paying bills with your phone is already familiar to many people, now Visa offers a new service that promises the same for your car. With this new technology, drivers can complete purchases from smart parking stations, such as filling up with gas.
These cars are automatically linked to your bank cards to pay your bills. The amount of gas you buy will be displayed on your car's screen and you can pay with just a few clicks. You can also make many other purchases like fast food without using cash.
Financial services group Visa has just revealed at the Mobile World Congress forum in Barcelona from March 26 to 1 that they have equipped this testing service for Bentley cars. The group also said that they will work with the world's largest car manufacturers to develop this new system.
According to Visa, Visa Token Service will be widely applied to new generation cars, helping drivers to make all payment transactions right in the car. This will be a new trend for cars in the future.
According to consulting firm Gartner, the number of connected cars will increase to 250 million by 2020. Honda is also one of Visa's potential partners.
Jim McCarthy, Executive Vice President of Innovation and Strategy at Visa, said the idea of turning the car into a commercial payment platform has worked out exactly as they expected. Visa is now continuing to test it with Honda cars.
