After a long wait, fans can finally get a glimpse of the 2016 Fortuner before the SUV makes its debut in Thailand this weekend.

No longer as conservative as before, the design of the 2016 Toyota Fortuner (pictured above) is much smoother and more streamlined than its predecessor.

In terms of design, the 2016 Fortuner has undergone a complete transformation compared to its predecessor, boasting smooth and sleek lines.

The front of the car makes a strong impression with its large chrome-plated horizontal grille, and small, thin headlights that sweep back towards the hood. The rear is also distinctive with its thin, blade-like, horizontally-swept taillights.

Meanwhile, the interior is designed in the style of a passenger car, featuring a 7-inch free-standing infotainment system, a multi-functional 3-spoke steering wheel, and 7 airbags...

Under the hood, the 2016 Fortuner will offer two diesel engine options and one petrol engine across four variants for the Thai market.

The diesel versions include the 2.4G 4×2 6MT, 2.4V 4×2 6AT, 2.8V 4×2 6AT, and 2.8V 4×4 6AT, with power outputs ranging from 150 hp to 177 hp, while the petrol engine is only available in the 2.7V 4×2 6AT version.

Of the above models, only the top-of-the-range 2.8V will have a 4x4 option, and most are equipped with a 6-speed automatic transmission.

Standard equipment on the 2016 Fortuner includes a smart key system with Keyless Entry, Start/Stop button, knee airbags, ABS brakes with electronic brake force distribution, Brake Assist (BA), vehicle stability control, Hill Descent Control, and emergency lighting system.

According to plan, the 2016 Fortuner will go on sale at the end of this year. In Vietnam, the Fortuner remains the leading name in the SUV segment. At the end of the first six months of 2016, 4,629 Fortuner vehicles were delivered to consumers.
