Upon inspection, the vehicle had 99 passengers, exceeding the limit by 53. In addition, the vehicle was carrying goods and luggage exceeding the vehicle's dimensions and had additional beds installed that were not properly designed.
"I know it's wrong to carry so many people, but because this is the last trip before Tet holiday, I want to earn some extra money, and besides, passengers keep asking to get on the bus," said driver Ha.
Traffic police have drawn up a record of the violation and temporarily detained the passenger car for processing. Dong Nai Department of Transport has mobilized a backup passenger car to transport passengers to continue the journey.
On January 20, Dong Nai Traffic Police also discovered two passenger vans carrying dozens of people over the limit, with a total fine of more than 200 million VND.
