On the morning of March 27, Deputy Minister of Transport Le Dinh Tho and Mr. Khuat Viet Hung, Vice Chairman of the National Traffic Safety Committee, arrived at the scene to direct the handling of the consequences. Vinh Phuc province leaders informed that the road where the accident occurred had adequate traffic signs. On the morning of March 27, there was not much fog here.

According to information from the Department of Transport of Dien Bien province, the passenger bus involved in the accident is managed by Long Giang Company Limited. This company registered its route to operate transportation along the Dien Bien - Lap Thach (Vinh Phuc) route. However, the registered route does not include National Highway 2C.

According to the sourceZing.vnAt the investigation agency, driver Phan Thanh Phu (43 years old, Hanoi) stated that at 1:30 a.m. on March 27, he started driving the 45-seat vehicle mentioned above after changing drivers. At the intersection of Trung Nguyen commune, the passenger car collided with a group of pedestrians. After that, Mr. Phu left the vehicle and went home to Son Tay town (Hanoi) and then turned himself in to the police.

During a quick meeting regarding the case of a passenger car hitting a funeral procession, killing 7 victims, Major Do Duc Cuong - Head of Yen Lac District Police (Vinh Phuc), said that the unit is waiting for test results on driver Phan Thanh Phu to serve the investigation.

Previously, at 5:00 a.m. on March 27, driver Phu was driving a 45-seat passenger van with license plate 27B-003.43 on National Highway 2C. When reaching the crow's foot intersection in Trung Nguyen village, Trung Nguyen commune, Yen Lac district, the vehicle suddenly crashed into a group of pedestrians next to a hearse.

Upon receiving information about the particularly serious accident, Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh, Chairman of the National Traffic Safety Committee and Minister of Transport sent condolences to the victim's family.

The Deputy Prime Minister requested the leaders of Vinh Phuc Provincial People's Committee to direct the functional units of the province and localities to focus on giving the highest priority to treating the injured victims to minimize human losses. The authorities urgently investigate and verify the cause, especially, need to verify the responsibility of the driver and vehicle owner who caused the incident, check for drugs and stimulants in the driver's blood.

The accident killed 4 people on the spot, including Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan (born in 1933), Mr. Nguyen Van Kien (1976), Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai (1962), Mr. Nguyen Van Tuyen (1960) and 6 injured victims.Later, three other people died at the hospital, including Ms. Nguyen Thi Cong (born in 1946), Ms. Nguyen Thi Lung (born in 1949) and Mr. Nguyen Van Dang (born in 1989).

Three injured people, including Le Xuan Quy, Nguyen Thi Man, and Nguyen Thi Tam, are being treated. All victims reside in Trung Nguyen commune.
