Japanese Mazda Corporation confirmed that Mazda3 and Mazda6 cars in the Vietnamese market are not being recalled due to handbrake "faults" like in the international market. |
According to the announcement from the Japanese Mazda automobile corporation, the reason is that the handbrake system does not work properly because during use, water gets into the hydraulic piston system (oil caliper) and when exposed to too low a temperature, it will create a thin layer of ice around the drive shaft of the hydraulic piston system.
If this process occurs frequently and for a long time, it will cause the hydraulic piston system drive shaft to rust, leading to the handbrake system being stuck or not applying enough force, causing the car to roll when parked on slopes. Japanese technical experts also explained that rusting usually only occurs in environments with very low temperatures and frozen water.
As previously reported, Mazda North America is recently recalling 227,814 Mazda3 and Mazda6 vehicles in the US due to a handbrake defect.
According to the announcement, the recalled vehicles include Mazda3 manufactured from January 6, 2014 to September 2, 2016, and Mazda6 manufactured from October 25, 2012 to December 1, 2014.
