(Baonghean.vn) - Nghe An province currently has many residential roads that are seriously degraded, the cause of which is the rampant use of oversized and overloaded vehicles, causing traffic insecurity and affecting the socio-economic development of the localities.

Quynh Luu district has many damaged rural roads, typically the road in Tan Son commune - Quynh Luu. This road used to be asphalt, but now trucks have used it a lot and over time it has been damaged. Mr. Nguyen Xuan Ha - Head of the Economic - Infrastructure Department of Quynh Luu said: The district has repeatedly made recommendations to the relevant authorities about the overloaded vehicles on Provincial Road 538, Tan Son Street (Quynh Luu) causing traffic damage. After that, the authorities went to the checkpoint to handle the situation, however, after the authorities withdrew, the overloaded vehicles resumed operation. Photo: Hai An

The road leading to Provincial Road 538, starting from National Highway 48 (Quynh Chau Commune, Quynh Luu District), is also damaged due to heavy trucks destroying it day and night. Photo: Hai An

In 2015, Quynh Luu district repaired a 10km section of this road through Quynh Thang and Tan Thang communes with a total capital of over 19.5 billion VND. However, this is only a "patchwork" solution for this raw material route with a total length of nearly 40km that is currently being "plowed" by heavy trucks day and night. Photo: Hai An

In Do Luong district, the 14km Lam Son to Giang Son Tay commune road is also seriously degraded. Photo: Ngoc Phuong.
In addition to the above route, Do Luong district has many seriously degraded inter-commune routes such as the route from Thinh Son commune to Bai Son, 8 km long, the route from Hoa Son to Tan Son, Thuong Son, 15 km long... Mr. Nguyen Bui Phuong - traffic specialist of Do Luong Economic Infrastructure Department said: The cause of road damage is due to overloaded vehicles. Photo: Ngoc Phuong

According to the Department of Transport, Nghe An province currently has more than 3,782 km of inter-district roads and more than 11,882 km of inter-commune roads. Currently, many inter-district and inter-commune roads have seriously degraded. However, capital for investment and repair of these roads is still facing many difficulties.
