US electronic warfare vehicle neutralizes all explosives

According to The Drive, in early September 2018, the US Army will receive a number of armored vehicles equipped with electronic warfare tactical vehicles (EWTV), which will be used to test new tactics. Once testing is completed, in addition to domestic use, the US can deploy them abroad if necessary.

The primary contractor for the EW equipment is SRC Inc and the "basic EW system" installed on the vehicle is SRC Inc's CREW Duke with tactical and technical modifications that remain classified, Rapid Deployment Force (REF) officials said.

So what is the Duke electronic warfare system? The Duke system is a short-range, low-power jamming device that neutralizes by jamming roadside bombs and explosives of guerrilla and terrorist groups controlled by radio waves of electronic information means (mobile phones).

However, the Duke system is developed as an electronic system to detect and block, jam signals, emitted from mobile phones to radio links controlling enemy drones.

The Duke installed on the EWTV is designed to detect and jam enemy communications and networks, not just drones or radio-guided bombs IEDs, the system can operate and jam across a wide range of frequencies and a variety of waveforms with enough power to neutralize the dangers encountered.

The Duke system can detect and analyze radio frequency signals (communications or control), emit RF signals to disrupt communications and deceive the enemy (electronic attack, EA).

The special feature of the CREW Duke system in EW electromagnetic warfare is the transition from passive information collection to jamming, transmitting fake signals that disrupt enemy electronic sensors, locating the signal source (radio station, radar), providing coordinates for air or artillery attacks.

The start of piloting the CREW Duke is of special importance to the US, especially when operating on battlefields such as Iraq, Afghanistan... Because this is considered a nightmare for the US military due to suffering heavy losses due to landmines and explosives on the march.

The US Department of Defense believes that similar unfortunate losses will not happen again when the CREW Duke system is officially equipped not only with domestic units but also abroad.
