Truck loses control and crashes into house, killing elderly woman.
(Baonghean.vn) - While sound asleep, Mrs. Th. was crushed to death by a collapsing wall of her house. The cause was a runaway truck crashing into and demolishing the wall.
According to local residents at the scene, the tragic accident occurred at approximately 5:00 AM on November 28th on National Highway 1A, in the section passing through Hamlet 1, Dien Trung Commune, Dien Chau District.
At the time of the incident, the truck with license plate 60C - 034.90 was traveling on National Highway 1A in the direction of Vinh - Hanoi. Upon reaching the aforementioned location, it suddenly lost control and crashed into a part of a single-story house where Ms. Th. (75 years old) was sleeping in bed.
As a result, Mr. Th. was seriously injured and was taken to the hospital by local residents. However, due to the severity of his injuries, he passed away.
At the scene, Mrs. Th.'s single-story house had collapsed and was severely damaged. After the accident, the truck veered into an empty plot of land next to the house, sustaining heavy damage to its front end, and the driver suffered minor injuries.
The incident is currently under investigation by the authorities.
