An aircraft of the Southern Military District (Russia) hit a target ship located within the training range in the Caspian Sea.
The exercise took place on July 24. Groups of Su-30SM fighters, Su-24 and Su-34 bombers and Su-25 attack aircraft took part in the exercise. In total, the crews of more than 10 warships of the Caspian Flotilla took part in the exercise, along with about 40 aircraft.
The Kh-31A anti-ship missile was put into service in 1989. The maximum range is 70 km. These missiles can be used at any time of the day, in sea level 4-5 and in worse weather conditions.
