Review of the expected number and structure of deputies of the 15th National Assembly
At the 52nd session (taking place from January 11-12), the National Assembly Standing Committee will consider issuing a Resolution on the expected number, structure, and composition of deputies to the 15th National Assembly.

This morning (January 11), after National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan delivered the opening speech of the meeting, the National Assembly Standing Committee will give opinions on the draft Joint Resolution guiding the consultation process and introducing candidates for the 15th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 term.
Two Resolutions were considered for approval, including: Detailed regulations and instructions on organizing voters' conferences; introducing candidates for People's Council deputies at commune level in villages and residential groups; consultation, introduction of candidates, making lists of candidates for National Assembly deputies and People's Council deputies in by-elections; Instructions on determining the expected structure, composition, and allocation of the number of candidates recommended for election as People's Council deputies at all levels.
The National Assembly Standing Committee also considered issuing a Resolution on the expected number, structure and composition of deputies to the 15th National Assembly.
Previously, at the 51st session, the National Assembly Standing Committee gave opinions on the drafting of a joint resolution guiding the consultation process and introducing candidates for the 15th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 term.
A notable point is that the Draft adds guidance: "In case the candidate expected to be introduced as a candidate has a voter trust rate at the workplace or place of residence that does not reach over 50% of the number of voters attending the voters' conference, he/she will not be included in the list of expected candidates or the list of candidate introductions."
Also at the 52nd session, the National Assembly Standing Committee gave opinions on the draft reports on the 2016-2021 term of the President, the Supreme People's Court, the Supreme People's Procuracy, and the State Audit.
Many other important contents were also discussed such as: Conversion of investment methods for a number of component projects on the Eastern North-South route in the period of 2017-2020; financial settlement plan for the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group when paying the price compensation in the product consumption of the Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical Complex Project according to the Government's commitment; Review and approval of the decision of the Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Procuracy on the establishment of the Criminal Technical Expertise Department under the Supreme People's Procuracy; Review and decision on the adjustment of administrative boundaries of a number of commune-level administrative units in Dak Nong province; establishment of Cat Tien town, Phu Cat district, Binh Dinh province; establishment of a number of wards in the provinces: Bac Ninh, Hoa Binh; Government report on the application of Clause 22, Article 4 of the Public Investment Law No. 39/2019/QH14./.
