Previously, on Friday afternoon (March 2), the school had a schedule for extra classes for students (not regular classes), but some teachers who lived far away requested to change the class schedule to Saturday afternoon so they could go home early.
Therefore, the school changed the schedule and notified parents and students. That afternoon, the four officers went to the temple of the Goddess of the Warehouse.
Although there is no official school schedule, Friday afternoon is still a working day.
Speaking to the press, Ms. Tran Thi Yen - Principal of My Luong Secondary School said that on the afternoon of Friday, March 2, she, a vice principal and 2 teachers only took advantage of the noon to go to Ba Chua Kho Temple (Bac Ninh province).
The incident happened, and up to now, Ms. Yen has also made a report to the relevant units. “After teaching all 5 morning classes, we left school at 12:15. We returned around 13:00. In fact, we did not leave school, did not leave class, and did not buy votive paper to burn when we got there,” Ms. Yen said.
According to Ms. Yen, the characteristic of secondary schools is that they only work in the morning, and have 3 sessions in the afternoon. On Friday, March 2, My Luong Secondary School also arranged for teachers to only work in the morning, and have the afternoon off to stay home to worship the 15th day of the first lunar month.
